The Brief: To respond to a brief by Fred Mann and the Great Eastern Hotel promoting awareness of London's vibrant East End gallery scene. This would coincide with a weekend festival of events to introduce the public to the wide range of artistic activity in the area.

The Artwise Solution: Artwise conceived a programme of guided tours led by London art world experts, taking in major spaces such as the Whitechapel Art Gallery; important commercial galleries like White Cube, Victoria Miro and Modern Art; through to smaller project spaces and the growing number of artist-run galleries such as STORE and MOT. A series of gallery talks offered participants the opportunity to meet local gallerists, artists and curators. Artwise also helped produce an accompanying map of East End galleries for the occasion. F-EST attracted generous support from Arts Council, agnËs b and Arts & Business, among others.
