The Brief: To launch the Royal Academy's exclusive Contemporary Patrons Group in spring 2005 with an ambitious opening event promoting the RA's position as a contemporary, as well as historical, institution. To encourage patrons' active involvement in contemporary art.

The Artwise Solution: Artwise curated a one-night event of contemporary artists' films and installations by established and emerging artists, all loaned specially for the evening by galleries and museums worldwide. Artists included such leading international figures as Tony Oursler, Anri Sala, Fischli & Weiss, Christian Marclay, Piplotti Rist, William Wegman, Jesper Just, Tim Noble and Sue Webster, Tracey Emin, Troika and Pierre Bismuth among many others. The evening was held in the spectacular surroundings of the Royal Academy's 6 Burlington Gardens, the former Museum of Mankind.

Artwise Director Susie Allen chairs the Contemporary Patrons Group.
