‘CONTEMPORARY EYE: CROSSOVERS’
Curated by Artwise Curators, in association with Pallant House Gallery.
A series of exciting contemporary interventions in an 18th century house and new wing galleries from major private collections, by international contemporary artists exploring traditional craft techniques such as ceramics, textiles, wood carving, glass and taxidermy. In recent years craft techniques have increasingly crossed over into fine art territory, often with a radical or subversive edge. Contemporary Eye: Crossovers celebrates this experimentation, featuring works - sometimes shocking in nature - which reimagine traditional techniques to bring new meanings and arguments to their work.
Artists include: Artists Anonymous, Barnaby Barford, Ruth Claxton, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Tracey Emin, Laura Ford, Neil Hamon, Mona Hatoum, Susan Hefuna, Damien Hirst, Gary Hume, Rachel Kneebone, Jeff Koons, Debbie Lawson, Charles LeDray, Livia Marin, Kelly McCallum, Polly Morgan, Grayson Perry, Nina Saunders, Paloma Varga Weisz, Joana Vasconcelos, Bouke de Vries and Edmund de Waal.
We are most grateful to the private collectors who have generously lent these artworks, and to the artists and their galleries.
